In Blue Kitten, Erica folds book pages to reveal new compositions that play with the visible and the invisible. Elusive animals emerge from the landscapes, complemented by colours. Like a game of hide-and-seek, they appear and disappear in the folds – a paw, an ear or a tail may be seen sticking out.
Erica Baum (*1961, US) is interested in the printed word and image, concrete poetry, and the beauty of language in everyday life. She could be described as a ‘poet-photographer’. [↗][↗][↗]
